The Black Architecture & Design Digest is a newsletter publication rooted in the Black Feminist Literary Tradition with the main goal of bringing Black architecture and design history and experience to the forefront of attention within the design community.
Black architects and designers are often under recognized, under employed, and under appreciated in our contributions to design innovations that shape our physical and digital worlds. Little has been done to incorporate Black design history into the canon, and little is known of the archival work of Black designers and architects worldwide. It’s time that our voices be added into the narrative of design, and if not added, then it’s time to write it ourselves!
BAD.d is devoted to:
- Discussing the experiences of Black Designers globally; especially Black Women and Black Feminists in design.
- Intersectionality as a methodology of design practice.
- Voicing the marginalized in regard to race, class, and gender.
- Activism as defined by the origins of The Black Radical Tradition.
- The promotion of design with SOUL that is SUPER-BAD !
Watch me ... watch me!
I got it!
Watch me...I got it
Hey!
I got somethin' that makes me want to shout
I got somethin' that tells me what it's all about
Huh, I got soul and I'm super bad!
I've got soul and I'm super bad!
